How To Create A Balanced Life

Having balance in your life doesn’t take anymore work than you are already doing.  You may just have to rearrange some things.

First you have to become aware of the imbalances in your life.  Do you need to give more attention to how you are spending your time?  Or maybe you are feeling physically out of balance.  Another area of imbalance can fall into the financial category.

Balancing Time

Are you in the habit of wasting time?  Many of us do, so if you are seeing yourself in this category you are not alone!  Would it mean that you spend a designated amount of time doing the things you enjoy, compared to the amount of time you do chores and duties at home, compared to the time you spend earning a living?  How can you rearrange to make better use of your time?

Body In Balance

Maybe more balance in your life would be to exercise more, eat less fatty and/or sugary foods to help get your body in a healthier more attractive state.  Learn to listen to your body and it will tell you what it needs.  Yoga is my favorite exercise for flexibility, strength, and body awareness.  Find what works for you.

Financial Balance

Maybe it’s money that’s out of balance in your life.  So, do you need to cut up some of those credit cards, pay down the balances, and build up an emergency fund?  Maybe adding a low cost investment home business would help bring your finances back in balance.   We all know that more money coming in, and less money going out is a balance that can be hard to achieve.

No matter where you need more balance in your life, rest assured that you can create balance by changing some habits.  All it takes is becoming aware of the habits you have now, and making a few adjustments to time, exercise and food choices, and earning and spending habits.  You will begin seeing and feeling a higher quality of life almost immediately.

Should You Cleanse Your Colon?

Do you experience low energy, fatigue, memory problems, diarrhea, gas, bloating, constipation,  indigestion, heartburn, water retention,  or headaches?   If so, you may have a toxic colon and/or body.

Your colon is designed to eliminate toxins and waste, so if it is not working properly these toxins can build up possibly causing your body to become toxic.  When your colon is clogged you can not absorb nutrients as efficiently as when it is working as intended.

I’ve been using a natural herbal product that has been created from a Mediterranean recipe.  It’s the best thing I’ve used to stay regular and healthy in over 15 years.  It comes in capsules that can be taken as is, or my preferred way is to make a tea by emptying the capsule into warm water.  The product is called “Experience”.  If you try it you will understand how it got it’s name.  (hint: it’s a good experience)

It’s available at www.bewell.awarenesslife.com

If your body is in desperate need of cleansing and repair, I would suggest the “Cleanse and Rebuild” starter pack.  This not only  helps cleanse your colon of debris and toxins, but also nourishs your body creating health and well being.

If you have any questions about using any of the products from www.bewell.awarenesslife.com   please send an email to support@stayhealthywithsusan.com or call me at 410-610-0460

Keeping the weight off

It’s been a while since I’ve posted and I admit I’m way behind on the daily tips, but this is a perfect example of how life can “get in the way” of our weight loss goals.

In Febuary I “got the flu” and was quite sick for about two weeks.  During this time I knew I was still in perfect health, my body was just cleansing itself of everything including the flu bug.  As you can imagine I lost 8 lbs during this time, which was a little more than I was trying to lose.

We know we are going to gain some of the “water weight” back quickly once we get over a flu, but I decided that I would only let my weight get back to where I was trying to be.

I started at around 131 lbs. and wanted to stay around 126-127 lbs.  So far so good.  You might think that should be easy, but it’s not.  It still takes disapline to keep your weight where you want it.

HOW DID I KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF?

Cutting out cheese helps a lot!  Eating smaller portions of carbs.  Continuing with lots of fruits and vegetables…and high quality proteins such as salmon and eggs.  I eat the whole egg because it is a complete protein.

As an example, last evening we had broccoli and salmon.  I already had a slice of bread with lunch, half a tuna sandwich with a salad, and I had fruit and fiber cereal with fresh cut strawberries and grapes for breakfast.

HINT:  Don’t eat within three hours of bedtime.

Improving Eating Habits

We’re going to be talking about how you can improve your eating habits easily so you can start to see and feel a difference in your body almost immediately.  You will be making some decisions on your own as to how you will add exercise into your busy life, or if you are already exercising you will decide if what you are doing is accomplishing your goals.

How to Begin

  1. Food Diary – Easily begin eating healthier and losing weight by keeping a food diary.  Grab an old tablet, notebook, or anything you can use to start tracking what you eat each day.  Keep your food diary wherever it is you nest at the end of the day, maybe it’s watching TV, catching up at the computer, or wherever you normally wind down.  In your food diary write down EVERYTHING that you put into your body throughout the day.  Don’t cheat!:)
  2. Eliminating unhealthy choices – As you look over your list of food and beverages for the day, circle the items you know were not healthy choices.  Then put a line through each unhealthy item telling yourself  ”my body doesn’t need that”.  Each evening when you write your list, you will begin to notice less unhealthy foods and beverages showing up, until almost everything on your list is a healthy nourishing choice.  Keep your food diary until you are at your target weight, or  until you are consciously choosing all  heathly foods throughout your day.

You Are Not Alone

We will be doing this together.  I, too, am starting my food diary today, Dec. 21, 2009.  Today I took my measurements, which you can also do when you are ready.  My next post will  have my starting measurements and directions for you to measure yourself (or have a friend do it for you).  I will also be posting a before picture of myself and encourage you to have one to help track your results.  Wear something that shows your size and not cover yourself with a large shirt, so that you can really see the difference over the next few months.

Start With One Small Step Today
