Keeping the weight off
It’s been a while since I’ve posted and I admit I’m way behind on the daily tips, but this is a perfect example of how life can “get in the way” of our weight loss goals.
In Febuary I “got the flu” and was quite sick for about two weeks. During this time I knew I was still in perfect health, my body was just cleansing itself of everything including the flu bug. As you can imagine I lost 8 lbs during this time, which was a little more than I was trying to lose.
We know we are going to gain some of the “water weight” back quickly once we get over a flu, but I decided that I would only let my weight get back to where I was trying to be.
I started at around 131 lbs. and wanted to stay around 126-127 lbs. So far so good. You might think that should be easy, but it’s not. It still takes disapline to keep your weight where you want it.
HOW DID I KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF?
Cutting out cheese helps a lot! Eating smaller portions of carbs. Continuing with lots of fruits and vegetables…and high quality proteins such as salmon and eggs. I eat the whole egg because it is a complete protein.
As an example, last evening we had broccoli and salmon. I already had a slice of bread with lunch, half a tuna sandwich with a salad, and I had fruit and fiber cereal with fresh cut strawberries and grapes for breakfast.
HINT: Don’t eat within three hours of bedtime.
